ACLU Files Suit On Behalf Westboro Baptist Church

The ACLU is really scraping the bottom of the barrel by supporting the much-hated Westboro Baptist Church. From the Military Times:
A Westboro Baptist Church member has sued the city of St. Joseph over its ordinance banning protests at soldiers’ funerals.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, asks a judge to declare the ordinance and its enforcement unconstitutional.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Eastern Missouri filed the suit on behalf of Shirley Phelps-Roper. She’s the daughter of Topeka, Kan.-based Westboro Baptist Church founder Fred Phelps.
I'm sure giant picket signs at funerals about IEDs killing fag soldiers is just what the framers of the Constitution had in mind with the first amendment. More at Stop the ACLU.

Jeebus, these Westboro freaks are really going to come unglued if Obama really does end "don't ask, don't tell". But I'm not holding my breath for this to happen since I well remember how Clinton folded like a cheap tent on this same pledge.
